Shavua tov my dearest friends <3 This song is called Nafshi, which means my soul
The words come from Anim Zemirot, the Song of Glory, which we sing on Shabbat with the ark open.
It's one of the most intimate prayers we have.
Just a soul saying: I want to be close to You.
Written over 800 years ago, and it still says exactly what my heart feels.
Nafshi, nafshi chamda
Chamda b'tzel yadecha
Oy, lada'at, oy, lada'at
Oy, lada'at kol raz sodecha
Ye'erav, ye'erav na
Sichi, sichi alecha
Ki nafshi ta'arog
Nafshi ta'arog elecha
My soul, my soul longs
Longs to rest in the shade of Your hands
Oh, to know, oh, to know
Oh, to know every secret of Your mystery
May it be sweet, may it be sweet
My prayer, my prayer to You
For my soul yearns
My soul yearns for You
